Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and skilled Lowboy Driver to join our transportation team. In this role, you will operate specialized lowboy trailers designed for hauling heavy, oversized equipment and materials. Your expertise in truck driving, route management, and equipment handling will ensure safe, efficient deliveries across diverse locations in mostly the tri state area. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a fast pace dedicated team committed to excellence in equipment transportation and logistics. Duties Safely operate lowboy trailers equipped for transporting heavy machinery, farm equipment, construction equipment, and all oversized loads Load and unload cargo using appropriate tools and techniques, ensuring secure placement for transit Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tractor-trailer to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns Plan and follow efficient routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including manifests, bills of lading, and inspection reports Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues promptly Assist with loading heavy freight using forklifts or other lifting equipment when necessary Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record Proven experience driving tractor-trailers, especially lowboy or flatbed trucks Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks Familiarity with hauling equipment and operating equipment Ability to load & unload cargo safely using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or skid steer Knowledge of route planning and delivery schedules for efficient freight movement Experience with truck driving regulations and safety standards applicable to commercial trucking Nice-to-have skills include experience with oversize load permitting, knowledge of axle weight limits, mechanical back round. This role demands a proactive attitude towards safety and efficiency while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
