Job Description

McCombs Funeral Home Duties/Responsibilities:
Bonus will be based on removal $75.00 Transports decedent's body to the funeral home from hospitals, homes, or other location, following processes for chain-of-custody, paperwork, and deceased identification. For home removals, courteously and professionally interacts with bereaved family members; exhibits sensitivity to environment; minimizes conversation. Follows all traffic laws and regulations and transports the decedent safely. Inspects the cleanliness of the limousine or removal vehicle. Maintain a clean and organized driving area. Ensures that the vehicle's maintenance schedule is up to date; confirms that there are no mechanical issues. Schedules maintenance for the vehicle. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Physical effort requiring attention to driving hazards, traffic, and weather conditions. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds; push/pull up to 200 pounds. Frequent continuous period of standing or sitting up to two hours. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors regardless of weather conditions. Ability to work weekends and evenings to accommodate business needs. Ability to effectively self-manage time and resources ensuring work is efficiently completed.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Two years of related experience highly preferred. Current state issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Valid driver's license, including any special endorsement that may be necessary to operate vehicles used to transport caskets. Ability to pass a background check. Ability to work weekends and evenings according to schedule, as well as ability to be on call.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods driving a vehicle. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and to push/pull 200 pounds. Basic computer skills helpful. Significant amount of local travel required. Ability to present a neat and professional appearance
