Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious Hazmat Gas Tanker Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting hazardous materials, specifically gases, across designated routes while ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. Your expertise in truck driving, route management, and handling specialized tanker equipment will be essential to delivering our products efficiently and securely. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a critical industry with a focus on safety, precision, and customer service. Duties Safely operate hazardous material gas tankers, adhering strictly to all federal, state, and local transportation regulations. Load and unload gas tanks using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking the integrity of the tanker, hoses, valves, and safety devices. Follow designated routes for delivery or pickup, maintaining timely schedules while prioritizing safety at all times. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, fuel usage, and safety inspections in compliance with regulatory standards. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate deliveries and resolve any logistical issues promptly. Ensure all cargo is secured properly on flatbeds or refrigerated trailers as needed for specific shipments. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements for tanker and hazmat transportation. Proven experience in truck driving, particularly with tractor-trailers or freight delivery routes involving hazardous materials. Knowledge of manual transmission trucks and experience operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is preferred. Ability to load & unload cargo safely using forklifts or other equipment; forklift certification is a plus. Familiarity with route driving regulations and safety procedures for transporting gases or hazardous freight. Strong understanding of load securement techniques for flatbed or tanker shipments.
