Overview Join our dynamic team as a Dump Truck Driver and take charge of transporting materials efficiently and safely across various job sites. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate heavy-duty trucks, including dump trucks, to support construction, mining, or landscaping projects. Your expertise in commercial truck driving and knowledge of logistics will be essential in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining safety standards. Responsibilities Safely operate dump trucks and tractor-trailers to transport materials such as gravel, dirt, or debris across designated routes. Load and unload cargo with precision, ensuring proper handling of hazardous or heavy freight in compliance with hazardous materials regulations. Navigate using GPS navigation systems to adhere to assigned routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving routes when necessary. Follow all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations to maintain safety and legal compliance during all operations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, checking for mechanical issues, fluid levels, tire condition, and safety equipment. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo documentation in accordance with regulatory standards. Assist with truck loading and unloading processes, ensuring cargo is secured properly for safe transportation. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including tractor-trailer operations and delivery driving. Knowledge of truck loading/unloading techniques and logistics cargo handling procedures. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, and hazardous materials (Hazmat) transportation regulations. Ability to operate GPS navigation systems confidently for route planning and execution. Strong understanding of
FMCSA, DOT
regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for dangerous goods. Skilled in manual handling techniques for manual transmission trucks and manual handling tasks associated with freight movement. Excellent driving skills with experience in route driving across diverse terrains and conditions.
