Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a CDL Class A Flatbed / Step Deck Driver OTR, where your expertise in hauling freight with flatbed and step deck trailers will drive our success forward! This role offers weekly pay, providing consistent income and stability. As a company driver, you'll be responsible for delivering freight efficiently and safely across various routes, ensuring timely load & unload operations. Your skills in handling different types of cargo—including flatbed loads, tankers, and refrigerated trailers—will be vital to maintaining our high standards of service. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers, including flatbed and step deck trailers, across designated routes while adhering to all federal and state regulations. Load & unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual methods, ensuring cargo integrity and safety. Secure loads properly on flatbeds or step decks to prevent shifting during transit. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, trailer, and load to identify any safety issues or maintenance needs. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and deliveries in compliance with Hours of Service regulations. Plan efficient routes for timely deliveries while managing route driving challenges effectively. Communicate professionally with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate pickups and deliveries smoothly. Handle diverse freight types including dry van, refrigerated goods, tankers, or specialty loads like dump trucks or roll-off trucks when required. Skills Proven experience operating manual transmission trucks with a strong understanding of tractor-trailer dynamics. Familiarity with flatbed and step deck trailer handling, including securing various cargo types such as freight, heavy equipment, or oversized loads. Knowledge of refrigerated trailer operation for temperature-sensitive shipments. Experience with driving tankers or other specialized trucks like dump trucks or roll-off trucks is a plus. Ability to load & unload freight efficiently using forklifts or manual methods while maintaining safety standards. Strong route planning skills to optimize delivery schedules and reduce transit times. Excellent driving record with a focus on commercial driving safety practices.
