Job Description
Position Summary Southeastern Transformer Company is seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Class A CDL Truck Driver to join our team in Dunn, NC. Our drivers are responsible for safely transporting transformers and other electrical equipment to and from customer locations. This position includes both deliveries and pickups and requires professional interaction with customers, careful handling of equipment, and accurate completion of required paperwork. We are looking for someone who takes pride in being safe, dependable, professional, and on time . Key Responsibilities Safely operate company trucks and trailers to complete scheduled customer deliveries and pickups. Transport transformers and other electrical equipment safely and securely. Follow assigned routes, schedules, and customer instructions. Inspect loads and ensure equipment is properly secured before transportation. Assist with loading and unloading equipment when required. Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Maintain accurate driver logs and required transportation documentation. Obtain customer signatures on delivery and pickup paperwork. Verify equipment and paperwork before leaving customer locations. Maintain and return completed delivery receipts, pickup receipts, and other required documentation. Communicate with the STC office regarding delays, schedule changes, equipment issues, or customer concerns. Follow DOT regulations and company safety policies. Report vehicle maintenance or safety concerns promptly. Maintain a professional appearance and attitude when interacting with customers. Keep assigned company vehicles reasonably clean and organized. Follow all applicable traffic laws and safe-driving practices. Perform other transportation-related duties as assigned. Requirements & Qualifications Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required. Acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) required. Previous commercial truck-driving experience preferred. Experience operating trucks and trailers preferred. Knowledge of DOT safety requirements and regulations. Ability to properly secure loads and safely transport heavy equipment. Ability to complete paperwork accurately. Strong communication and time-management skills. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to work independently and follow instructions. Must be safety-conscious and professional when representing STC at customer locations. Must meet all applicable DOT and company driver requirements. Physical Requirements Drivers must be able to perform the physical duties associated with commercial driving and equipment transportation, including: Entering and exiting trucks and trailers throughout the workday. Sitting and driving for extended periods. Walking, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling as required. Working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Assisting with equipment and load securement as required. The right candidate will be professional, courteous, dependable, and committed to safely completing each pickup and delivery. Attention to paperwork and communication is also important. Drivers are expected to keep the office informed of delays or problems and make sure required customer paperwork is completed and returned. Transformer experience is not required. Training will be provided on STC's equipment and transportation procedures.
