Purpose:

The donation pickup Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient collection of in-kind contributions, such as furniture and appliances, from donors' locations, delivery of those to the ReStore, and assisting the ReStore manager with processes necessary to ensure their sale.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Drive and /or work on the trucks picking up donations, unloading into warehouse and placing on showroom floor Assess donations for resale potential Communicate professionally and tactfully with donors at all times Work various functions at the ReStore including customer service, cashier, sales, pricing, shelving, cleaning and maintenance Assist with supervision, training, direction, problem solving and encouragement for volunteers and other employees Work with staff and volunteers to maintain a clean and safe working environment Assist in keeping trucks well maintained and clean; minor repairs as needed Maintain a co-operative working relationship with fellow employees and volunteers Other duties and responsibilities as assigned Required Qualifications High School Graduate or equivalent Valid North Carolina driver's license with a clean driving record Strong communication skills, via all modes of communication, in English (other languages a plus) Able to stand on concrete floors, bend, reach, lift climb in and out of trucks and commercial vehicles, climb on and off-loading docks all throughout each work day Able to lift, carry, climb up and down stairs and loading ramps and docks with 50 lbs of boxed and loose material such as furniture, appliances and building materials Able to work with co-worker(s) to cooperatively lift and load furniture, appliances and building materials weighing 100 lbs or more Demonstrated understanding and enthusiasm for the mission of Habitat for

Humanity Preferred Qualifications:

Experience driving trucks, vans, and trailers Retail and/or delivery experience preferred

Other Requirements:

20-25 hour weekly schedule - Saturdays typically required Must pass

Drug Test and Criminal Background Check Compensation and Benefits:

$15 per hour
