Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a CDL A Driver and take charge of delivering freight safely and efficiently across diverse routes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate a variety of commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and specialized equipment like dump trucks and roll-off trucks. You will be responsible for transporting goods, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, and providing exceptional service to our customers. Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, lowboy. Load and unload freight using proper manual handling techniques or equipment such as forklifts when necessary. Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Ensure compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT regulations, and hazardous materials regulations at all times. Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips; report any maintenance issues promptly to maintain safety standards. Load and unload cargo accurately, ensuring proper securing of freight such as refrigerated goods, freight containers, or tanker loads. Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in accordance with regulatory requirements. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and pickups while providing excellent customer service. Requirements Valid CDL A license with clean driving record; experience with manual transmission preferred. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery flatbed trucks, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialized equipment is a plus. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for truck driving. Ability to handle manual loading/unloading tasks safely; experience operating forklifts is advantageous. Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures for freight transportation across different industries. Excellent navigation skills using GPS systems for efficient route planning Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks such as lifting heavy loads or securing cargo safely.
