Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and safety-conscious Belly Dump Operator / Sandbox Mover with a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating specialized dump trucks and sandbox moving equipment to transport and distribute bulk materials efficiently across various job sites. Your expertise in over-the-road (OTR) routes, logistics cargo handling, and adherence to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations will ensure smooth operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with heavy-duty equipment, manage hazardous materials safely, and contribute to large-scale construction and transportation projects. Duties Operate belly dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other heavy-duty tractor-trailers to transport bulk materials such as sand, gravel, or other construction supplies Safely load and unload freight using truck loading/unloading techniques, including manual handling and forklift assistance when necessary Navigate GPS systems accurately to follow designated routes on over-the-road (OTR) driving routes while complying with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations Transport hazardous or dangerous goods in accordance with Hazmat and hazardous materials regulations, ensuring safety at all times Maintain proper documentation for each delivery, including logs for load & unload activities, route details, and compliance records Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with FMCSA regulations Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route adjustments, or safety concerns Qualifications Valid Class A CDL license with a clean driving record and experience operating tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or dump trucks Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or logistics cargo handling in similar roles Knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently and handle manual loading/unloading processes Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route planning and execution on OTR routes Experience working with refrigerated trailers or specialized freight is a plus but not required Strong understanding of truck loading/unloading procedures and safety protocols for dangerous goods or hazardous materials Join us if you're ready to drive your career forward in a fast-paced environment that values safety, efficiency, and professionalism.
