Job Overview Join our dynamic team as an OTR Commercial Truck Driver specializing in Hopper Bottom freight! In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers equipped with hopper bottom trailers to transport bulk commodities across long-distance routes. Your experience in commercial truck driving, combined with knowledge of logistics will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all federal and state regulations. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers with hopper bottom trailers on over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or truck loading equipment, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transit Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules and optimize travel times Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, trailer, and cargo to ensure safety standards are met Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and cargo handling in compliance with DOT regulations Communicate effectively with dispatchers and logistics teams to coordinate route planning and delivery schedules Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record Proven experience in commercial truck driving, particularly with tractor-trailers such as hoppers, walking floors, or belt trailers. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT requirements Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and handle manual loading/unloading tasks Strong navigation skills utilizing GPS systems for route driving across diverse locations Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks related to load & unload operations and truck loading/unloading processes Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, efficiency, and compliance in over-the-road (OTR) driving routes Embark on a rewarding career where your driving expertise keeps vital goods moving!
