Job Description
Overview Ground Derby is hiring an experienced CDL Class A driver for nationwide over-the-road routes. The driver will operate a company-provided 2019 Freightliner Cascadia sleeper and transport freight safely and efficiently throughout the United States. Compensation structure, schedule, and home-time terms are negotiable based on experience, driving history, and availability. This is a full-time 1099 position with an immediate start available. Responsibilities Safely operate a 2019 Freightliner Cascadia sleeper Transport freight on nationwide OTR routes Pick up and deliver loads safely and on schedule Use the required Electronic Logging Device at all times Maintain accurate Records of Duty Status Follow all DOT Hours-of-Service regulations Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections Report maintenance issues, defects, accidents, citations, and delays immediately Maintain communication with dispatch and company ownership Submit bills of lading, proof of delivery, receipts, and other required paperwork promptly Follow all cargo-securement, fuel-card, routing, and company safety procedures Maintain required licenses, medical certification, and driver documents Keep the assigned truck clean and in good operating condition Use personal conveyance only for legitimate personal travel, never to advance a commercial load Comply with all applicable DOT and FMCSA regulations Experience and Requirements Valid CDL Class A license Minimum of two years of verifiable Class A driving experience Must be at least 21 years old Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate Acceptable motor vehicle and safety record Experience operating on nationwide OTR routes preferred Experience using an ELD and maintaining compliant electronic logs Ability to safely operate a tractor-trailer and perform required inspections Ability to provide employment, accident, and driving history for the preceding three years Must complete Ground Derby's driver application and qualification process Must pass a pre-employment DOT controlled-substances test Must authorize the required FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse query Must participate in applicable DOT drug-and-alcohol testing Must meet all applicable DOT and FMCSA driver-qualification requirements Professional, dependable, safety-conscious, and communicative Available to begin immediately Compensation and Schedule Payment structure is negotiable (est. $1,500 - $2,200 per week) Compensation may be structured per mile, per completed load, as a percentage of gross load revenue, or as agreed Home-time and scheduling terms are negotiable Final compensation will be based on experience, driving record, availability, and agreed operating terms Ground Derby provides the truck and covers authorized company operating expenses
