Independent Contractor Compensation:
Mileage-based pay Overview Scarlet Express is seeking experienced independent contractors to manage business-to-business cannabis transport routes across New Jersey. Drivers will handle licensed transfers between cultivation and manufacturing facilities in full compliance with New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission (CRC) regulations. This position requires reliability, professionalism and a secure, compliant vehicle suitable for long-distance transport and larger product loads. Key Responsibilities Transport cannabis products securely between licensed facilities including growers and manufacturers Maintain accurate manifest and chain-of-custody documentation for every transfer Ensure vehicle and cargo are compliant with all CRC transport requirements Communicate with dispatch and facility representatives to confirm pickup and drop-off times Conduct regular vehicle safety and security checks Uphold confidentiality and integrity when handling regulated goods Adhere to route schedules and delivery timelines Requirements Must be 21 years of age or older Valid New Jersey driver's license with a clean driving record Background check required per CRC standards Access to a secure, lockable, GPS-enabled cargo van or large vehicle Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Smartphone with data for communication and digital manifests Dashcam Up-to-date commercial insurance policies compliant with the state's minimum ($300,000) Excellent organizational and communication skills Strong attention to compliance and documentation accuracy Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in logistics, transportation, or regulated goods transport Courier driving experience is a plus Contract Terms Independent contractor (1099) role; mileage based Drivers are responsible for fuel, insurance and vehicle maintenance Routes assigned based on needs and availability from clients
