Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS
CDL with passenger endorsement preferred. Candidate must have a high school diploma and a New Jersey State drivers license with a "no point" driving record. Prior experience in transportation of the elderly and/or physically/mentally challenged persons preferred. Bilingual; Spanish or Arabic preferred.
SCHEDULE
Full time, Monday-Friday, including some holidays. Hours are assigned by facility Administrator and Director of Transportation.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Daily safety check of vehicle Reporting immediately to the administrative office any problems related to the vehicle routing or scheduling Reporting immediately to the director of nursing and the administrator any problems observed or encountered while transporting participants Safe assistance and transportation of clients Responsible handling of participants personal belongings, medicine and communication between family and center may be required at times Maintaining good rapport with the family caregivers and clients Assisting clients on and off of bus at all times to insure safe pickup and drop off Daily cleaning and disinfecting the interior of vehicle Daily gas and weekly fluid check of vehicle Assistance in emergency evacuation of clients if inclement weather is threatened or if there is a power outage or other reason that the center must close Handling of emergencies at route until emergency assistance arrives at vehicle Another duties as assigned Helping in handling food if needed Provide additional help if requested by the administrator
