Job description: Must have Class A CDL / Tankers Overview Join our dynamic team as a CDL Driver - Vacuum Operator, where you will play a vital role in maintaining efficient waste management operations. This energetic position offers the opportunity to operate specialized vacuum trucks and other commercial vehicles, ensuring safe and timely collection, transportation, and disposal of waste materials. As a key player in our team, you'll contribute to environmental sustainability while enjoying a rewarding career in heavy-duty truck driving. Your expertise in route driving, safety protocols, and customer service will drive our success forward. Responsibilities Operate vacuum trucks, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, and other commercial vehicles such as front loader and rear loader trucks with precision and safety. Load, unload, and transport waste materials according to established routes while adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and state transportation laws. Conduct thorough safety inspections of vehicles before and after shifts, including air brake systems, mechanical components, and load security measures. Follow traffic laws diligently during route driving to ensure safety for yourself and others on the road. Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, including route completion, waste types handled, and any incidents or equipment issues. Load and unload waste using front-end loaders or other heavy machinery when necessary, ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials regulations. Provide excellent customer service by communicating professionally with clients during pickups and addressing any concerns promptly. Ensure compliance with hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols during all operations. Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment such as flatbeds or tractor-trailers to ensure optimal performance. Assist in training new team members on safe driving practices, vehicle operation, and waste management procedures. Experience Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for air brakes and hazardous materials where applicable. Proven experience operating heavy-duty trucks including vacuum trucks, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, front loaders, rear loaders, and flatbeds. Strong knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, state transportation laws, and solid waste management practices. Experience in municipal waste management or solid waste collection services is highly desirable. Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting mechanical issues is a plus. Demonstrated commitment to safety protocol adherence and hazard awareness during outdoor work environments. Prior experience with manual transmission vehicles preferred but not required; training will be provided if necessary. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling waste containers or equipment components. Excellent route planning skills with a focus on efficiency and safety during route driving tasks. Pay:
$25.00 - $27.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 75.0 per week
