GENERAL OBJECTIVES
The Haul Truck Operator will safely operate a 100-ton haul truck, and transport loaded material to the proper destination in accordance with the mine plan and optimize truck utilization through effective communication with team members and supervision.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY & DUTIES
Safely operate a 100-ton haul truck with dump body on open pit haul roads. Perform and document a thorough pre-operational and post-operational inspections to evaluate the safety and mechanical condition of the equipment. Transporting heavy loads, including ore and overburden, to designated processing plants, crushers, or waste sites, ensuring the dump site is safe and stable. Utilizing two-way radios to communicate with equipment operators and supervisors to optimize workflow. Maintaining accurate logs, vehicle inspection (mechanical issues, tire conditions and fluid levels), and immediate reporting of any mechanical or safety hazards. Keeping the truck cab free of loose items and walking areas (ladders/walkways) clear of debris to prevent trips, slips, or falls. Ability to remain focused during long 12-hour shifts performing repetitive tasks in a high-density, dynamic environment. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding operational status, safety concerns, or equipment needs. Demonstrates an optimistic approach when adapting to changing priorities, conditions, or production needs. Recognize hazardous conditions or situations and act quickly and appropriately to mitigate or eliminate those conditions or situations. Ability to work in extreme weather conditions. Willingness to perform other duties as necessary to ensure the site's success.

- Responsible and accountable for the performance, and compliance of mine site safety and environmental policies and procedures.
- Willing to stop the work for safety concerns and always abide by safest best practices, policies and procedures.
- Complying with MSHA regulations, wearing PPE, site safety policies and traffic rules, and maintaining awareness of other moving equipment to avoid incidents.
- Noise exposure, dusty conditions, seasonal weather conditions, uneven ground and vibration - during loading, unloading and traveling process.
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- 0-2 years of general mining experience.
- Must be able to operate a 2-way radio with effective communication skills.
- Accuracy in following operational procedures, maintaining logs, and inspecting equipment.
- Ability to perform essential functions of the job.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- A valid driver's license.
- Successful completion of pre-employment physical, background check and Alcohol and Drug Screening.
