Seasonal Driver/ Boat Handler in Outdoor Recreation

JOB SUMMARY

To provide customers with the knowledge and proper equipment to ensure an overall safe and fun experience on the Delaware River and while at Indian Head Canoes. Transport customers in vans with loaded equipment trailers to river accesses. This is an active position. Applicants must be of reasonable health to lift and carry boats throughout the course of the day.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Transport customers in vans to various river accesses. Lift and move boats to and from the river accesses, on and off trailers. Training is provided for proper lifting. Organize customers into properly fitted life jackets and equipment. Accurately log and track boat rentals. Command attention of groups of all sizes to be able to give a proper safety speech. Customer service such as greeting customers on and off the river. General campground upkeep / boat maintenance / boat cleaning.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Basic vehicle maintenance and care Assist in cleaning customer bathrooms and campground cleanup Assist in general grounds maintenance or repairs. Skills training provided.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Athletic capability and endurance to lift boats throughout the course of the day. Present a friendly attitude with greeting customers. Communication, organization, and public speaking skills required Ability to work on projects solely, as well as in a team environment. One that can lead by example or possess self-starting skills is a plus. Ability to function in a fast-paced environment Available to work flexible hours (i.e. mornings or later nights, weekends and holidays) Must be at least 18 years of age
