In this energetic role, you will operate specialized tow trucks to assist stranded motorists, recover vehicles from accident scenes, and ensure safe transportation of vehicles across various locations. Duties Safely operate tow trucks, including flatbed and traditional models, to recover and transport vehicles efficiently. Load and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment such as hooks, chains, or forklifts when necessary. Conduct basic automotive diagnostics and mechanical assessments to determine the best recovery approach. Assist customers with roadside issues by providing professional support and clear communication. Maintain detailed logs of all recoveries, loads, unloads, and vehicle conditions for record-keeping purposes. Manage conflict situations calmly and professionally when dealing with distressed customers or challenging scenarios. Perform routine inspections of tow truck equipment to ensure safety standards are met and report any maintenance needs promptly. Requirements Proven experience in automotive repair or mechanic work, with strong mechanical knowledge. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record; experience operating tow trucks is preferred. Skilled in automotive diagnostics, manual transmission operation, and basic automotive repair techniques. Ability to load, secure, and unload vehicles safely using specialized equipment like flatbeds or forklifts. Excellent customer service skills combined with conflict management abilities to handle difficult situations gracefully. Knowledge of automotive safety standards and the ability to perform routine vehicle inspections.
