Job Description
World Ice Arena in Flushing Meadows Corona Park and City Ice Pavilion in Long Island City is hiring for a Zamboni Driver This position is responsible for performing rink resurfacing at designated times, maintenance tasks as well as managing the staff during our public sessions. This position works independently under general supervision of the Operations Manager and General Manager. Job Responsibilities Responsible for operating and driving the Zamboni ice resurfacing machine, edge conditioning, and other motorized equipment. Maintain accurate records of ice cuts, blade changes and preventative maintenance. Performs custodial work in building i.e.; sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and scrubbing/buffing machines. Managing skate guards, and skate rental attendants. Ensuring safety protocols are being followed by patrons and staff on/off the rink. Answer inquiries and communicates information regarding programs and facility policy, at times under stressful conditions which may require exceptional independent judgment and discretion. Investigate, analyze and resolve operational problems and customer complaints. Relate to public and to customers in a professional, courteous and respectful manner, appropriately responding to complaints. Assist with removing snow or perform other incidental seasonal tasks. Requirements Must be able to work evenings to midnight. Must be able to weekends and holidays Must be able to start work some mornings at 5:30am Must be able to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, often independently. Able to lift 25-50lbs without any limitations. Experience driving a Zamboni and working with facility equipment.
