Job Description

Job Description Bottini Waste Solutions is looking for an experienced, well-rounded CDL driver who has spent years in the waste industry and is comfortable running multiple platforms. This role covers automated side load (ASL), front end load (FEL), and roll-off routes, hauling residential and commercial waste, recycling, and roll-off containers to designated disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities. We're looking for someone who can move between platforms as needed and bring a steady, professional approach to every route. Duties and Responsibilities Safely operate ASL, FEL, and roll-off trucks, including right-hand driver's position on certain equipment, observing legal and defensive driving practices. Prepare, load, and transport waste, recycling, and roll-off/compactor containers to disposal sites, transfer stations, recycling facilities, and customer locations. Navigate driveways, alleyways, lots, and high-traffic roadways, including light overhead environments; perform skilled backing maneuvers as needed. Complete route/productivity sheets, DVIRs, logbooks, and other required documentation; record mileage and fuel consumption. Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and report unsafe conditions, service issues, incidents, or property damage to management or dispatch immediately. Communicate customer requests and service interruptions (blocked containers, closed lots or streets, hazards) to dispatch. Identify and report containers in need of repair or replacement; position and return containers properly so lids/doors are secured and driveways or traffic are not blocked. Perform simple vehicle maintenance — check lights, tires, fluids — and keep the interior of the vehicle clean. Observe all traffic laws, posted speed limits, DOT, OSHA, and company safety policies. Attend required training and meetings; assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs. Perform other related duties as assigned by management or dispatch. Qualifications Several years of hands-on experience in the waste industry, with demonstrated experience across ASL, FEL, and roll-off platforms strongly preferred. Minimum three (3) years of experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL. Valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A or B) with air brake endorsement. Must be 21 years of age or older. Valid medical card and acceptable driving record. Must pass a pre-employment DOT drug/alcohol screening and DOT physical. Legally eligible to work in the United States. Ability to work with minimal supervision, manage priorities, and follow written and verbal instructions. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Work Environment & Physical Demands Regularly required to sit, use hand/finger dexterity, and use motor coordination with arm, hand, and leg dexterity. Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, twist, push, or pull. Frequently required to lift or push objects up to 50 pounds or more, depending on route.
