Job Description
Lazer Logistics is hiring a CDL A Yard Driver to support 24/7 yard management and trailer spotting for major distribution and manufacturing customers. In this role, you'll safely move trailers between docks, staging areas, and parking zones using specialized yard trucks and technology. Responsibilities include trailer spotting, shuttling, pre- and post-trip inspections, and accurate yard status updates. You'll work within a safety-focused, team-oriented culture with strong training, stable schedules, and opportunities to advance into operations, safety, or leadership roles nationwide. Responsibilities Operate CDL A yard truck to move trailers within distribution and manufacturing yards safely and efficiently Perform trailer spotting, docking, and staging according to yard management instructions and schedules Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and document any mechanical or safety issues Use yard management systems and communication tools to receive assignments and update trailer status Coordinate closely with dispatch, warehouse, and dock personnel to support smooth loading/unloading Follow all DOT, company, and site-specific safety procedures and PPE requirements Maintain accurate logs, paperwork, and equipment condition reports Support 24/7 operations, including possible night, weekend, and holiday shifts Required Skills CDL A commercial driving Yard truck/spotter truck operation Trailer spotting and docking DOT safety and compliance Vehicle inspection and documentation Yard management systems use Radio/handheld communication Backing and maneuvering in tight spaces Basic mechanical awareness Time management in 24/7 operations
