Transportation of Maryknoll members to and from medical appointments, medical & dental offices and facilities, driving members to hospital admissions, and picking up members at hospital discharge. Assisting Social Services and Activities with transportation and social outings. Operation of wheelchair lifts, wheelchairs, adaptive & ambulatory devices, and assisting members in and out of the vehicle and into medical appointments when necessary. Driving for other Maryknoll-related businesses, such as education and/or medical supply pick-up and delivery, and Maryknoll document deliveries. Ensuring member comfort and safety during transportation. Maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of assigned vehicle(s) and ensuring the vehicle is in good working condition. Scheduling and/or taking the vehicles to cleaning appointments and mechanical appointments. Adherence to all traffic and safety laws. Reporting all incidents and accidents immediately to Social Services and Activities Manager. Use of Maryknoll vehicles is for business purposes only.Essential Services Personnel:
are expected to report to work under all circumstances including inclement weather-related conditions, holidays, etc. They are to adhere to the shift schedules established by their supervisors or as directed by them.Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of three (3) years of safe driving experience.
- Valid New York Driver's License with a clear driving record.
- Ability to analyze and forecast schedule needs ahead of time based on Members' needs, appointments, and driver availability.
- Ability to define and make schedule changes as needed, often with little forewarning, as unexpected or urgent appointments arise.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Knowledge of local and city routes and traffic patterns.
- Knowledge of basic first aid and hazardous exposure control.
- Be able to maintain composure and remain calm in urgent or emergent situations.
- Physically able to assist Members in getting in and out of the vehicle and into the appointment office or facility.
- Dependable, reliable, and self-disciplined in carrying out the duties as assigned.
- Exhibit understanding, patience, and kindness in working with Members.
- Be sensitive to the religious beliefs of a Catholic community of Members.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all HIPAA and medical related information and situations of Members.
- Ability to communicate with company provided cell phone and blue tooth for phone calls and text messages.
- Basic computer skills.
