CDL DELIVERY DRIVER

Yard Supervisor Job Summary:

This position contributes to the customer's total satisfaction by providing efficient daily, local/regional delivery of materials to job sites. This enables more products to be sold in larger quantities while providing timely service to customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service in distribution.
• Understands and follows company safety and employment policies.
• Assists in loading trucks safely and efficiently while inspecting material during loading and unloading. Assumes the responsibility for the load placed on the truck.
• Timely delivery of the product to the job site and back in a safe manner, obeying all traffic laws.
• Follows special instructions on delivery tickets and returns material in re-sellable condition.
• Informs the team leader of any problems or damages that may have occurred to the material or job site during the delivery process.
• Keeps the truck clean inside and out and reports truck maintenance problems to the team leader.
• Assists and fills in for other distribution team members
• Assists in housing trucks and locking buildings at end of shift

Credentials, Education, and Experience:

• High school graduate or equivalent work experience
• Current CDL license-Class B required, A preferred
• Participate in all company alcohol and drug testing programs
• Excellent driving record
• Forklift certified (or be recertified)

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

• Able to read and follow directions
• Strong interpersonal skills, enjoys working with people
• Highly organized
• Able to lift heavy loads and work with various types of tools and equipment
• Strong mechanical skills
• Practice safe driving skills and safely operate a forklift

Physical Demands:

• Heavy physical demands. Must be able to easily and frequently lift and carry 25-75 lbs. Work also requires the ability to climb, reach, pull, stoop, crawl, and bend constantly.
• Requires the ability to stand on hard surfaces for long periods.

May encounter foot and leg fatigue, backaches, as well as other types of muscle fatigue.

Environment and Physical Working Conditions:

• Work outdoors in every type of climate and weather condition. The work tends to be repetitive and physically demanding.
• May be exposed to harmful materials, fumes, odors, loud noise, or dangerous machinery.

To avoid injury, the worker must wear safety clothing, such as gloves and safety shoes.

Pay:

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Experience:

Truck driving: 3 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

CDL License (Required)
