Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our team flatbed team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting brass & copper rods on a flatbed trailer, with tarps and side kits. This position pays a percentage of the load. A strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and customer service, as you will be the face of our company during deliveries. Responsibilities Operate truck and pull flatbed trailers, with side-kits and tarps. Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations. Safely load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling of goods, strapping and securement. Navigate assigned routes efficiently while adhering to delivery schedules. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel usage. Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding any issues or delays. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations. Perform routine maintenance checks on the vehicle and report any mechanical issues. Skills Proficient in operating commercial vehicles with manual transmission. Experience in route driving with a strong understanding of navigation systems. Ability to assist in loading and unloading cargo, assure proper load securement and breakdown of side kits, and handle tarping. Knowledge of safety protocols related to transportation and delivery services. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining delivery records. Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively. Previous experience as a delivery driver is preferred but not mandatory.
