Job Description

McLane Company, Inc., a leader in grocery and foodservice distribution, is hiring CDL drivers to support our nationwide supply chain network. In this role, you'll safely operate CDL equipment to deliver products to convenience stores, mass merchants, and restaurant customers. You'll complete pre- and post-trip inspections, manage unloading and securement of freight, and ensure accurate, on-time deliveries using advanced routing and ELD technology. Responsibilities Safely operate CDL tractor-trailers to deliver grocery and foodservice products to retail and restaurant customers Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and comply with all DOT and company safety regulations Load, unload, and secure freight using proper material handling equipment and methods Verify orders, complete delivery paperwork, and use onboard technology for route and delivery updates Communicate professionally with customers and dispatch to resolve delivery or routing issues Follow assigned routes and schedules while meeting on-time delivery and service standards Maintain clean, organized equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly Adhere to company policies, hours-of-service rules, and safety-first procedures at all times Required Skills CDL Class A driving Defensive driving and DOT compliance Vehicle inspection and basic troubleshooting Freight loading/unloading Electronic logging devices (ELDs) Route planning and time management Material handling equipment operation Customer service Paperwork and delivery documentation Safety and HAZMAT awareness
