Job Description

Join the Perry County Transit Team! Perry County Transit (PCT) is seeking dependable, safety-conscious, and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Transit Drivers . As a Transit Driver, you will play an important role in our community by providing safe, reliable, and friendly transportation to passengers throughout Perry County and beyond.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Safely operate Perry County Transit vehicles. Transport passengers to scheduled destinations in a safe, courteous, and professional manner. Assist passengers as needed, including individuals using wheelchairs, walkers, oxygen, and other mobility devices. Properly secure wheelchairs and other mobility equipment. Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Maintain accurate records, including ridership logs and incident reports. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, passengers, and other team members. Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and Perry County Transit policies and procedures. Respond appropriately to emergencies, accidents, and other incidents. Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must: Possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Have a satisfactory driving record. Demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills. Be dependable and able to work independently. Be able to assist passengers and perform physical tasks associated with the position. Successfully complete required background checks, drug and alcohol testing, physical examinations, and training requirements. Be willing to work in various weather and environmental conditions. Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent public service.
