We are looking to immediately add a safety-focused Propane Bobtail Driver to serve our residential and commercial customers in the Sandusky, OH area. Local routes only (you are home every night ) 401(k) retirement plan with company match Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Company-paid Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability Paid Time Off (PTO) and Paid Holidays Paid on-the-job safety and equipment training What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities): As a Propane Bobtail Driver, you will safely operate a propane delivery truck to service commercial and residential accounts on assigned local routes.
Propane Delivery:
Deliver propane accurately and efficiently according to daily routes while maintaining high customer service standards.
Safe Vehicle Operation:
Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, operate delivery equipment safely, and report maintenance needs promptly.
Safety & Compliance:
Strictly adhere to company policies, DOT regulations, and safety guidelines for handling and transporting hazardous materials.
Customer Relations:
Interact professionally with residential and commercial customers, addressing delivery questions and representing O.E. Meyer Co. positively.
Record Keeping:
Accurately complete daily delivery logs, service tickets, and route paperwork. What We Are Looking For (Qualifications):
License & Certification Requirements:
Valid Class A or Class B CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements (or the ability to acquire them upon hire) . Current DOT Medical Card . Clean driving record (must meet all DOT requirements, including road test, physical, and background/drug screening).
Experience & Skills:
Commercial Driving:
2+ years of commercial driving experience is preferred.
Industry Experience:
Previous propane delivery or hazardous materials experience is preferred, but paid training will be provided for the right qualified driver.
Local Knowledge:
Familiarity with the Sandusky and surrounding local road networks.
Traits:
Strong customer service focus, basic math/organizational skills, and the ability to work independently as a team player.
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
Ability to perform physical tasks associated with hose pulling, valve connections, and loading/unloading in varying outdoor weather conditions.
