Shifts:
5 days/week The Lead Driver and Operations role combines hands-on delivery driving with front-line operational leadership. In this role, you'll spend part of your time behind the wheel — delivering packages safely and efficiently — and part of your time supporting daily operations, fleet health, dispatch coordination, route planning, and driver performance. You'll set the standard for professionalism and safety on the road, while also serving as a partner to management in keeping daily operations running smoothly and as a go-to resource for fellow drivers. This is an ideal role for an experienced, dependable driver who is ready to take on more responsibility, mentor others, and grow into operations leadership. Main Responsibilities Driving & Delivery Load packages of up to 50 lbs. and drive to delivery locations Deliver packages in a safe, accurate, and timely manner Follow all safety procedures and traffic laws Follow delivery instructions and maintain communication with the dispatch team Model best practices in safety and customer service for other drivers Among other on-the-road tasks Operations & Leadership Prepare morning routes and pouches, and/or prepare the return-to-station items at night Partner with management to identify and resolve issues, and to improve fleet operations, dispatch, route planning, and daily workflows Support fleet health by monitoring repairs, maintenance schedules, Netradyne data, and vehicle cleanliness, ensuring compliance with safety standards Track and replenish fleet, operations, and administrative inventory; ensure vehicles and pouches/bags are stocked with necessary supplies and equipment Assist with driver onboarding, training, and performance tracking Maintain accurate records for attendance, incident reports, delivery metrics, and driver debriefs Provide hands-on support to fellow drivers — addressing concerns, helping resolve issues with timely solutions, and helping the team feel equipped and recognized Help promote a culture of safety, wellness, and accountability across the team Assist with opening and closing activities as needed Complete ad hoc projects and other tasks as assigned by management Benefits Weekly performance bonus ✔ Weekly paycheck with one week in arrears ✔ Paid training ✔ Paid time off ✔ Bonus opportunities ✔ Overtime opportunities ✔ Raffles, gift cards, and other opportunities to win prizes ✔ Uniforms and swag available ✔ Advancement and growth opportunities ✔ Ongoing paid training and development ✔ Annual $125 towards Zappos work shoes ✔ Snacks and/or beverages might be offered ✔ Professional, hard-working, experienced, and friendly team ✔ Network of childcare providers with options for parents ✔ Tuition reimbursement for those eligible of $5,250 per year ✔ 401(k) with matching Dental, vision, and health insurance Flexible schedule Qualifications and Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Must be at least 21 years old Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Must pass a drug test 1+ year of delivery driving experience required; prior experience in logistics, transportation, or operations is a strong plus — no CDL needed Excellent communication, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and proactively, and to manage multiple priorities Ability to adapt to a constantly changing work environment Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, including mentoring and supporting other drivers Great customer service and communication skills Positive attitude, resolute work ethic, and strong attendance and punctuality Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays Reliable transportation to and from work Physical Requirements Ability to lift, bend, reach above the head, kneel, crouch, and/or stretch during shifts up to 10 hours long, including climbing in and out of a cargo van 150 or more times a day Ability to safely operate and navigate a cargo van up to a gross weight of 10,000 lbs. in all weather conditions Capable of safely moving up and down stairs while carrying packages to a point of delivery Ability to lift, push, pull, and move boxes up to 50 pounds Proficient in English sufficient to meet US DOT standards for reading road signs and communicating with regulatory personnel
