Lew Thompson & Son Trucking seeks a Local Truck Driver for a dedicated route hauling refrigerated and live poultry. In this full-time, home-regularly role, you'll operate modern equipment, perform safe and compliant pickups and deliveries, and complete accurate inspections and logs. Work closely with a supportive, family-oriented operations team that values safety, professionalism, and reliability. Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks on a dedicated local route Transport refrigerated and live poultry loads for regional customers Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain logs Follow DOT regulations and all company safety policies Ensure on-time pickup and delivery with proper load securement Communicate with dispatch and operations regarding schedules and issues Maintain clean, well-kept equipment and report maintenance needs Provide professional, courteous service to customers and plant personnel Required Skills CDL Class A truck driving Vehicle inspection and basic maintenance Refrigerated trailer operation Logbook/E-logs and DOT compliance Backing and maneuvering in tight spaces Load securement and cargo handling Time management and route planning Communication with dispatch and customers Defensive driving and safety practices Basic mechanical troubleshooting
