A Tractor-Trailer Truck Driver drives large commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, semi-trucks, or big rigs. Responsibilities typically include transporting cargo across long distances, sometimes over the course of multiple days. They may work for trucking companies, freight carriers, logistics, or shipping companies.
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious CDL Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials to various locations while ensuring timely deliveries and upholding the highest standards of customer service. The ideal candidate will have a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), a strong driving record, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Safe Transport of Goods:
Safely drive and operate a commercial vehicle to deliver goods, materials, or products to designated destinations. Ensure all deliveries are made on time and according to route schedules.
Vehicle Maintenance and Safety:
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition. Report any mechanical issues, damage, or safety concerns to management immediately. Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the vehicle.
Route Planning:
Follow GPS or route planning software to ensure the most efficient and safest routes are taken. Adapt to changes in routes as necessary, while maintaining delivery schedules.
Customer Service:
Interact professionally with customers during deliveries, ensuring their needs are met. Address any customer concerns or special requests with respect and professionalism. Compliance with
Regulations:
Adhere to all state and federal driving laws, including weight limits, speed limits, and other transportation regulations. Ensure all required paperwork, including delivery receipts, logs, and reports, are completed accurately and promptly.
Load and Unload Materials:
Assist with loading and unloading goods as needed, ensuring that materials are secured and transported without damage. Follow proper handling procedures for all types of materials being transported.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate driving logs, vehicle maintenance records, and delivery documentation. Submit daily reports as required by management, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and complete.
Qualifications:
Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required. Clean driving record with no major violations. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience driving a commercial vehicle, preferably in the transportation or delivery industry. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws. Ability to operate a variety of vehicles, including flatbed trucks, box trucks, and other commercial vehicles. Ability to lift and carry heavy loads as needed for delivery and unloading. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers and coworkers. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and inspection procedures.
