Pay:
$28-31 per hour (with lots of overtime potential)
Schedule:
Monday-Friday; 5:30am start time This is a direct hire position. Full Job Description Our client is looking for a reliable and safety-conscious individual to join their team as a Local CDL A Truck Driver. In this role, you'll be responsible for hauling ocean containers between Aurora and the Port of Portland, completing multiple trips each day. You'll play a key role in ensuring timely deliveries while following all transportation regulations and maintaining clear communication with dispatch. This is a great opportunity for a dependable driver who enjoys a consistent local route and being home daily.
Key Responsibilities:
Transport ocean containers safely and efficiently between Aurora and the Port of Portland, typically completing up to three round trips per day Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the truck and container chassis to ensure vehicle safety and DOT compliance Follow designated routes and schedules while maintaining on-time delivery and pickup of containers at the port Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding load status, delays, or issues encountered during transit Adhere to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations, including weight limits, hours-of-service rules, and port procedures
Qualifications:
Class A CDL License required Must possess a TWIC Card or be in the process of getting one (for port deliveries) Clean driving record Doubles endorsement is a plus, but not required Must be able to drive a manual transmission Physically able to throw straps over cargo Benefits upon hire: 6+ hours of overtime each week Only local delivery to Port of Portland; No overnight travel Medical coverage Sick time PTO Paid holidays
