This position requires someone with significant experience operating older, heavy-duty manual trucks . The truck has a non-synchronized manual transmission and a very heavy, demanding clutch . It is NOT automatic and is considerably more difficult to drive than a modern manual-transmission truck. This is not a position for someone who is simply familiar with driving a standard manual vehicle or newer manual trucks. The successful candidate must already be comfortable with: Non-synchronized heavy-truck transmissions Difficult/heavy clutches Proper heavy-truck shifting techniques Starting and stopping a heavily loaded truck Controlling a large vehicle under load Safe braking and maneuvering with a heavy load Operating older heavy equipment safely and confidently We are looking for an experienced heavy-truck driver who can safely operate this type of truck without needing to learn the basics on the job. Responsibilities Safely operate a water truck and haul water between designated locations Complete approximately 4-5 trips per day during the initial 2-week assignment Safely load, transport, and unload water Perform basic pre-trip safety checks Monitor equipment and report mechanical or safety concerns Follow all safety procedures and applicable driving requirements Operate the vehicle responsibly on both farm/property roads and public roads as applicable Maintain reliable attendance throughout the required assignment Required Experience The most important qualification is proven experience safely driving large, heavy-duty trucks with difficult manual transmissions.

Extensive experience operating heavy trucks with non-synchronized manual transmissions Experience with heavy/difficult clutches Experience hauling heavy loads Strong understanding of heavy-truck shifting, braking, stopping distances, and vehicle control A safe and responsible driving history The ability to work independently Reliable transportation to and from work The ability to commit to the entire initial 2-week assignment CDL Experience Preferred A current CDL is preferred but not necessarily required , depending on the applicant's qualifications and the applicable farm-use requirements. Previous CDL experience is strongly preferred , particularly experience involving tank vehicles or liquid hauling. If you previously held a CDL but do not currently have one, please still apply . We are primarily looking for someone with the right heavy-truck experience and the ability to safely operate this particular type of vehicle. Schedule & Initial 2-Week Commitment The initial position requires a mandatory 2-week commitment . During this period, the driver must be available every day, with no scheduled days off , and must be able to complete approximately 4-5 trips per day . Daily hours during the 2-week commitment should average roughly 4-5 hours per day. Each trip generally takes approximately one hour and consists of transporting water between the designated locations, returning, and unloading. Applicants must be able to commit to the full 2-week period before accepting the position. Pay Starting compensation is approximately $30/hour equivalent, paid per completed trip . Potential for Continued Employment There is an opportunity for the position to continue beyond the initial 2-week assignment based on our ongoing needs and the driver's performance. If employment continues, the schedule may become more flexible. The regular schedule would generally consist of a morning shift of approximately 2 trips per day , with the possibility of working fewer days per week depending on scheduling needs. Who We're Looking For We are looking for a seasoned heavy-truck driver who is confident operating older equipment with a difficult manual transmission. If your experience is primarily with automatic trucks, newer manual trucks, or ordinary passenger vehicles , this position is likely not a good fit.
