Job Description

1.
PRIMARY PURPOSE
- Drives semi-trucks. Drives Truck and Trailer combination with a gross vehicle weight rating (GWVR) of 26,001 or more pounds to and from specified destinations in safe and accurate manner. 2.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - 1.
Drive truck to assigned destinations. 2. Ensure trucks promote a positive image of Marion Ag Service, Inc. by keeping the interiors and exteriors clean as conditions allow and practices courteous driving. 3. Maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with proper endorsements and commercial insurability at all times. Endorsements include Hazmat Materials, Doubles/Triples, Tanker and TWIC Card. 4. Valid DOT physical card required. 5. Oversee and/or participate in the loading and unloading of trucks. Cleans compartment after unloading as necessary to avoid contamination. 6. Prepare, organize, and maintain accurate delivery documentation and submit in a timely manner. This includes verifying quantity and product on load. 7. Coordinate efficient deliveries with dispatch by applying knowledge of customer schedules, peak delivery times and alternate routes. 8. Report all damage/malfunctions to management. 9. Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water. Make brake adjustments and other similar minor maintenance related activities 10. Perform a daily DOT pre-trip inspection according to checklist and keeps an accurate, legible and complete copy in the vehicle at all times. 11. Communicate with mechanic needed repairs and maintenance. 12. Maintain a daily, legible, and complete DOT log book according to State and Federal regulations and submits as required. 13. Accurately and legibly complete all Marion Ag Service required documents including but not limited to IFTA and Load Summary sheets. 14. Transport products locally or over the road according to manifest in a safe, responsible manner and in accordance with company procedures and applicable DOT regulations. 15. Immediately report all roadside inspections, accidents, and moving violations. 16. Perform all duties in accordance with Company policies and procedures to assure safe, effective and efficient transportation services. 3.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - 1.
Arrive to work and meetings on time and prepared. 2. Maintain work areas in a clean and organized manner. 3. Perform any other duties assigned by your manager. 4. Respond promptly to customer needs. 5. Maintain confidentiality of business, customer & personnel matters. 6. Communicate changes and progress to manager. 7. Follow instructions, respond to management direction. 8. Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness. 9. Adapt to changes in the work environment. 10. Maintain a positive attitude. 11. Follow policies and procedures. 12. Efficient use of company resources to create added value. 13. Observe safety and security procedures, uses equipment and materials properly. 14. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Typically requires 2 to 3 years of heavy truck driving experience along with related training.
  • A valid Class A CDL driver's license with a HazMat endorsement is essential.
  • Ability to operate diesel powered tractor-trailer combinations.
  • Ability to manage an ELD on tablet or smartphone.
Pay:
$30.00 - $37.00 per hour
