Our work keeps jobs moving safely and on schedule—and we need a reliable pickup driver to help our field teams deliver. Role Summary You'll operate a company pick-up truck to pick up and deliver samples between job sites, and our laboratory. This role is field-based, fast-paced, and customer-facing. The pick-up driver position is just the first step in your growth within the company to becoming a certified laboratory and/or field technician. Key Responsibilities Safely load, secure, transport, and unload construction material samples (concrete, asphalt, soils). Maintain timely pick up/delivery routes; communicate ETAs and delays. Complete routing logs accurately. Perform daily vehicle inspections; keep the truck clean and organized; report maintenance needs. Process samples upon return to the laboratory including use of hand grinders and masonry saw. Assist in the lab with material handling when needed and clean areas upon completion of tasks. Represent the company professionally with clients, inspectors, and site personnel. Qualifications Valid driver's license (State Class C, non-CDL) with a clean driving record. Meet Background check and pre-employment drug screen requirements prior to start. Comfortable driving full-size pickup trucks in urban and jobsite conditions. Able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, twist, bend, reach and work on your feet throughout the day. Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented; strong communication skills. Familiarity with basic smartphone apps (maps, messaging, photos). Construction, courier, or warehouse experience is a plus. Knowledge of chain-of-custody or materials testing is a plus (we will train). Schedule & Pay Full-time, Monday-Friday, alternating Saturdays with occasional early mornings or overtime as projects require. Competitive hourly pay; overtime eligible. Benefits include health/dental/vision, paid time off, and 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer matching program (Carlson matches contributions dollar‑for‑dollar on the first 1% you save and $.50 cents on the dollar on the next 5%, allowing you to earn the full 3.5% company match when you contribute at least 6%.)
