Description Responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely operation of commercial motor vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 26,001 pounds or more to transport freight across long-haul routes throughout the continental United States. This safety-sensitive position requires full compliance with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.
Primary duties include:
operate company-assigned tractor-trailers or straight trucks across state lines and long distances in diverse driving environments (urban, rural, high-traffic, and adverse weather conditions); conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure compliance with DOT safety standards and identify, document, and report mechanical issues promptly; load, unload, and secure freight using industry-standard equipment in accordance with cargo safety regulations; perform routine driver-level maintenance and minor repairs, such as replacing lights, filters, and batteries; utilize both physical forms and Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) to maintain complete and accurate driver logs, fuel receipts, bills of lading, and inspection records; navigate and plan efficient travel routes using GPS systems or dispatch routing, while adhering to tight pickup and delivery schedules; ensure full compliance with Hours of Service (HOS), weight, size, and interstate transportation regulations; communicate clearly with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and customers to coordinate freight movement and resolve issues in real-time; remain cognizant of fuel usage and route planning to minimize delays and ensure on-time performance; and consistently comply with all company policies, safety guidelines, and applicable federal and state laws. Travel Requirement:
Position requires full-time long-haul interstate travel due to the geographic scope of the company's contracted freight lanes and customer delivery requirements. Drivers must be willing to remain on the road for periods up to 30 consecutive days, as required. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must have 2 years' experience as a CDL truck driver, Long-Haul/Over-the-Road (OTR) Driver, or in a closely related commercial driving role. Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A required. REQUIRED SKILLS
Meeting scheduled pickup and delivery deadlines as required by dispatch and customer commitments;
working in compliance with necessary regulations to maintain full compliance for vehicle inspection, cargo securement, and weight/size rules;
performing driver-level vehicle inspections and basic repairs to ensure operational safety;
leveraging Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) and other on-board systems for tracking hours of service (HOS), location, and diagnostics;
reading and interpreting maps, GPS routing systems, and freight documentation, including bills of lading, manifests, trip reports, and delivery instructions. Send resumes to:
