The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and delivering freight within local routes. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and customer service, with an emphasis on timely deliveries and proper handling of various types of freight. Candidates with experience in driving manual transmission trucks, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or dump trucks are encouraged to apply. This position offers an opportunity to work with a reputable company committed to safety standards and professional growth. The runs are off the load board, have to be willing to hustle. No unloading, all runs are pick up and deliver. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers and commercial trucks within designated local routes. Load and unload freight efficiently, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo such as freight, roll-off containers, or other materials. Dry van trailers, must keep clean. Will have a leaf blower for driver to blow out anything in the trailer if needed. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle inspections, and delivery documentation in compliance with DOT regulations. Perform routine inspections of the truck before and after trips; report any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly. Follow all traffic laws and safety protocols to ensure safe transportation of goods. Assist with route planning to optimize delivery schedules and routes for efficiency. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery times and any issues encountered during transit. Qualifications Valid CDL Class A license with clean driving record. Experience operating manual transmission trucks preferred but not required. Proven experience driving tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, or dump trucks is highly desirable. Delivery driver experience in freight transportation or similar roles is preferred. Knowledge of route driving best practices and safety regulations related to commercial trucking. Strong commitment to safety standards and customer service excellence.
