Job description:
Our Class A Drivers are responsible for the safe and efficient delivery and pick up of material at customer yards, Metalico yards, and Mill sites.Work Hours:
Monday through Friday with a 40-45 hours/week.Qualifications:
Current Driver's License/Medical Card required. Class A license required. Three sided car hauler experience preferred. Roll Off experience is preferred. Tractor Trailer- Frameless Dump Trailer experience preferred.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Drives trucks in a safe manner at all times. Responsible for monitoring road and traffic conditions at all times to prevent accidents. Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections on every truck driven daily. Completes required paperwork accurately and turns paperwork daily at the end of each workday. Responsible for appropriately distributing and tying down all loads to ensure safety, using tarps as required. Picks up and delivers containers at customer sites on a timely and efficient basis. Monitors mechanical functions of the truck. Knows materials and what they are allowed to haul and what not to haul (hazardous materials). This position makes safety a top priority and looks for opportunities to improve safety, follows all safety rules, and wears appropriate PPE at all times. Communicates to the manager immediately any accidents that may have happened with or without damage or any damage done at a customer's facility.Physical Demands:
Operate a tractor-trailer (move, position). Climb in and out of a tractor cab and trailer. Sit for extended periods of time in a truck tractor. Walk and stand on various surfaces that may be uneven or slippery. Operate a tractor/trailer combination for multiple consecutive hours, in all types of weather, while safely transporting products; and safely walk, reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, and kneel as necessary to perform the job duties. Specific vision includes close vision and the ability to adjust focus.Benefits:
