Job Description

Job Summary We are looking for a reliable and experienced Local Tractor-Trailer Driver to join our transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers to deliver freight and goods within local SCI routes, ensuring timely and secure deliveries. This position is focused on produce distribution to the eastern side of the state. Distribution will be to correctional facilities.
Candidate must have:
Clean, valid driver's license Clear drivers history Hold a valid CDL class A license Candidate must be able to begin work as early as 2:00 am. Deliveries into the correctional are between 7:00 am - 1:00 pm Deliveries are Monday thru Friday A DOT medical card Pass a drug, alcohol, and background check Pass a DOC clearance Must be dependable, consistent worker, and not call off Qualifications Tractor-trailer driving experience - at least 1 year Commercial vehicle Responsibilities Operate refrigerated tractor-trailer on local delivery routes with precision and care. Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to optimize routes and meet delivery schedules. Comply with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety standards during all driving operations. Ensure proper documentation of deliveries, including manifests and logs, in accordance with logistics handling procedures. Maintain the cleanliness and basic maintenance of the tractor-trailer to ensure safe operation at all times. All deliveries are dock drops. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery times and resolve any route or cargo issues promptly. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving, especially with tractor-trailers or similar heavy-duty vehicles. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers transportation is preferred. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules and safety standards Experience with route driving within local areas or over-the-road (OTR) driving routes is highly desirable. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL). Prior experience in delivery driving or logistics cargo handling that demonstrates reliability and safety awareness.
