Job Description
Overview Join our small fleet where you aren't just a name and number on the wall! As we take on this new endeavor of buying new trucks, we are looking for someone who can take care of our newest one that has just arrived. We currently have a position available where you will be expected to be out m-f, with the exception of being home throughout the week from time to time. When you can make it home through the week, you can gladly take the truck home, but on the weekends we require the truck to be here at our shop in Crystal Spring so we can go over everything incase any maintenance is needed. You will be expected to pull open deck flatbeds with tarps, conestoga flatbeds, and 53ft dry vans from time to time. We ask that you keep a clean truck inside and out, and also be clean yourself. We take pride in our company and our employees. Our truck is our first impression, then you! We offer healthcare, vision, and dental. At the start of employment you are given 2 weeks paid vacation, leeway of time off if needed for family or personal time etc. We give you your dispatch info, and leave you alone! Call us if you need us, and we'll do the same. If you're tired of the big fleets where you have a camera staring at you all day, lane departure systems beeping at you on a curvy road, or just looking for a change, submit your application! Responsibilities Safely operate Class A commercial trucks with manual and automatic transmissions, adhering strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Drive a variety of trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, conestoga flatbeds, and 53ft dry vans across the northeast, southeast, and midwest. Strap and chain freight properly while adhering to all DOT rules and regulations. Tarping neatly and not going down the road with it flapping in the wind. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the truck and trailer to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before departure. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid Class A CDL license. Demonstrated ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and safely. Prior experience running flatbed is preferred with a minimum of 6 months required. Familiarity with logistics cargo handling including load securing techniques for various freight types. Knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules. Delivery driver experience involving route driving across urban or rural areas is a plus. To note, if you like what you see, but the new truck doesn't suite your desires, we still have older trucks too! Our goal is to eventually have our few older trucks still running while still growing our fleet with newer trucks!
