Job Description

DISABILITY TRANSPORTATION DRIVER
Full Time | M-F 8:30a-4:30p (flexibility required) $16/hour Experience transporting people is preferred 6 months experience required (paid or volunteer) SUMMARY Provides safe transportation for clients and agency personnel as needed to any/all agency programs or functions and assists staff in supervising clients during said functions (may include providing personal cares and support with using the bathroom or physical support). Ensures cleanliness and upkeep of vehicle, and may perform additional custodial and building maintenance tasks when not driving.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below: Provides safe transportation of clients and agency personnel as needed to any/all agency programs or functions. Provide support as needed to include personal cares and physical support. May assist disabled passengers into and out of vehicle and to appointments. May communicate with medical and or therapist professionals. May keep records of trips and/or behavior of passengers. Responsible for cleanliness and upkeep of vehicle including refueling, oil maintenance, and the like. Maintains proper vehicle documentation, e.g., registration, inspection sticker, insurance, etc. Maintains ethical and professional standards as outlined in agency policies and abides by all statutes in conducting agency business. May perform other duties when not driving, such as custodial and maintenance tasks.

None required. Minimum Knowledge and Skills required by the Job The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required to perform the job:
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or the equivalent required Experience in similar role preferred
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
Valid Driver's License and car insurance required for at least 1 year in the state of New Jersey. Verification is required.

Physical Requirements:
Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
