Job Description
Lazer Logistics is hiring Local CDL A Drivers to support 24/7 yard management, spotting, and shuttle operations for major distribution centers and manufacturers. In this role, you'll move trailers safely within yards and between nearby facilities, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, and operate specialized yard trucks and shuttle tractors. Drivers follow strict safety and DOT regulations while communicating with dispatch and yard coordinators via onboard technology. Responsibilities Safely operate CDL A equipment for local yard and shuttle moves Perform pre- and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT regulations Spot, stage, and shuttle trailers within yards and between local facilities Maintain accurate logs and documentation using ELD and yard management systems Communicate with dispatch, yard managers, and warehouse teams via radio/tech tools Adhere to all safety, company, and customer procedures at distribution centers Maneuver trailers precisely into docks and tight yard spaces Report equipment issues and coordinate basic maintenance needs Support 24/7 operations with assigned shifts, including possible nights or weekends Contribute to a safety-focused, team-oriented work culture Required Skills CDL Class A driving Local shuttle driving Yard hostling/spotting Tractor-trailer maneuvering DOT compliance Electronic logging systems (ELD) Vehicle inspection (pre/post-trip) Backing and docking trailers Radio/dispatch communication Basic truck maintenance checks
