Job Description Summary of Description:
Transfer Drivers are responsible for the timely and accurate delivery and/or pick up of goods to specified inter-company hub distribution locations. Responsibilities include safe operation of vehicle, vehicle maintenance, and loading and unloading delivery vehicles in an efficient manner. The route is planned for maximum efficiency and requires contact with supervisors and dispatchers. The accurate and proper use of our electronic dispatching software. Essential Functions & Requirements Drive company vehicles making prompt, on schedule deliveries and pick-ups while notifying management of any delays in the delivery schedule. Become familiar with delivery routes and location preferences. Load and unload transfer vehicle in an accurate and efficient manner. Perform inspection of company vehicle at the beginning of each shift including routine maintenance of vehicle oils, fluids, tire pressure, etc. Damage, safety, or operational issues are to be reported to the Transfer Supervisor and recorded on a daily condition checklist. Accept and demonstrate the EAPW Core Values of commitment, open communication, respect, and excellent service. Maintain a professional, respectful relationship with co-workers and customers. Comply with all Company policies, which include, but are not limited to: Safety, substance abuse and proper PPE practices. Maintain a clean and neat appearance, free from excess perfume/cologne and other offensive odors. Attend quarterly
Driver Safety Meetings Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record is required to drive company vehicles. Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screening. Previous product delivery experience and knowledge of the delivery area preferred. Strong interpersonal and organization skills with ability to be a self-starter. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to perform in an organized, timely and efficient manner Ability to handle difficult situations professionally and in a non-confrontational manner. Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions The requirements listed below are representative of the physical abilities needed to perform the essential functions of this position. Approximately 70% of the job is driving the company vehicle to and from customers and/or other EWD locations. Approximately 30% of the job is carrying items from the vehicle to the customer's locations for each route. Requires the ability to lift up to approximately 50 lbs. Hearing and vision adequate for safe driving Walking, sitting, standing, for up to 8 hours per day Ability to climb steps
