CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL YARD SPECALIST

Cedar Run Construction/Lumber Connect is small but innovative & growing construction company specializing in commercial wall panel construction. Our employees have a strong work ethic and believe in integrity in everything we do. Our current work schedule is 5:45 am to 4:30 pm Monday-Friday. We are seeking an experienced yard specialist. Must have reliable, daily transportation, be dependable, have a "can-do" attitude, and interact and communicate effectively with others. Applicants are subject to acceptable criminal background checks. Job Responsibilities- Receive daily deliveries. Promptly unload trailers with deliveries. Checking for accuracy and damage.
- Load walls onto trailers and ensure loads are properly secured.
- Provide lumber to shop when requested.
- Organization
- Maintain work area and yard area in an organized manner.
- Safety
- Have a high awareness of safety for themselves and others; always maintain safe forklift speed.
- Empty shop dumpster as needed.
- Attendance
- Regular daily attendance.
- Prepare material requests and supply orders for the shop.
- Pulling materials; packing and preparing orders for customer pick up.; load prepared orders on the truck for delivery.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards. Supports inventory controls by collecting stock location orders, recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed either manually or using a computer. Assist in physical inventory.
- Perform fundamental inspection of rented equipment being returned. Promptly report any need for cleaning and repair to mechanics.
- Work to keep all inventory and equipment clean and organized in order to provide our customers reliability, consistency and the highest standards possible.
- Snow removal of walkways and parking lot.
- Move trailers and other equipment around the yard using a yard truck.
- Assist in shop with construction if needed.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18+ years old.
- Previous forklift experience required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Commitment to safety.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, walk and the ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials.
- Ability to work in seasonal temperature variations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
