Job Description
Job Overview We seek a reliable and motivated Driver (Independent Contractor) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations. This position requires that all deliveries are electronically scanned , with 100 percent scanning expected daily. This is a last mile delivery position with regular routes M-F and some Saturday work available. As an independent contractor, you can have the flexibility to manage your own schedule while ensuring timely deliveries and excellent customer service. This position requires a strong understanding of driving regulations and the ability to provide your own vehicle. Preferably a box truck or cargo van. You must own a delivery vehicle or be able to purchase on prior to starting in the position. Responsibilities Safely operate a delivery vehicle, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations. Load and unload goods, utilizing equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts when necessary. Navigate efficiently to various delivery locations, maintaining punctuality in all deliveries. Provide exceptional customer service during interactions with clients and recipients. Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and reliability. Keep accurate records of deliveries, including documentation of any issues encountered during transport. Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery status and any potential delays. Qualifications Must be able to provide own vehicle. Preferably a box truck or cargo van. Previous experience as a delivery driver, courier, or in a warehouse setting is preferred. Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle inquiries professionally. Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading goods. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is advantageous. Knowledge of safety protocols related to driving and handling goods is essential.
