Details:
AM pickups with possible late-night deliveries Sometimes 2 local loads per day Local work only - typically under 1,000 miles weekly Short runs, home daily or same day
Pay:
$1,100 weekly + Consistent local work
Requirements:
Valid CDL Clean MVR Must pass drug & alcohol test Reliable, punctual, and flexible Strong work ethic (schedule can vary) Ideal for drivers who: Want local work without long miles Can handle early mornings and late finishes Prefer short runs over long hauls Duties Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialty trucks to transport freight across local routes. Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual methods, ensuring secure handling of freight like refrigerated goods, heavy loads, or specialized equipment. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load securement. Follow designated routes for morning pickups and late afternoon or evening deliveries, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch to confirm delivery schedules, report issues or delays, and update delivery statuses promptly. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, freight details, and delivery documentation in compliance with DOT regulations. Assist with route planning to optimize efficiency while accommodating flexible scheduling needs. Experience Proven experience as a commercial truck driver with a focus on local route driving; delivery driver experience highly preferred. Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the vehicle types operated (e.g., tanker endorsement if applicable). Hands-on experience operating manual transmission trucks is desirable. Familiarity with operating specialized equipment such as forklifts or dump trucks is a plus. Knowledge of safety procedures related to freight handling—including refrigerated cargo, flatbed loads, tankers, and roll-off containers—is essential. Strong understanding of load securement techniques and DOT regulations governing commercial driving. Ability to navigate using route maps or GPS systems efficiently while managing flexible schedules that include early morning pickups and late-night deliveries.
