We're looking for a Rear-load Driver who leads from the front and knows how to get the best out of a team. Our drivers are the backbone of our operations. Job Description The Rear-load Driver is responsible for supporting key operations within the waste management and recycling industry. This role contributes to the organization's success through strong execution, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and a commitment to safety, service quality, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Safety & Vehicle Operation Demonstrate strong vehicle control, including backing, turning, and maneuvering in tight or congested environments Comply with all applicable DOT, OSHA, and company safety policies and procedures Perform and document pre-trip and post-trip inspections Utilize safe backing procedures, including coordination with helpers Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or equipment issues immediately Route Execution & Productivity Complete routes safely, on time, and in accordance with service and productivity expectations Maintain route pace in high-volume environments Follow route sheets and dispatcher instructions Manual Collection & Team Coordination Ensure helpers follow safe work practices and company procedures while on route Work closely with helpers to collect and load waste into the truck Assist with loading waste when needed Ensure safe coordination with helpers, especially during backing operations Customer Service & Site Standards Provide courteous service to residential customers Ensure streets and collection areas are left clean and free of debris Report service issues or missed pickups Represent the company professionally at all times while in the field Equipment Operation & Waste Handling Operate packer controls and loading mechanisms safely Identify and report unacceptable or hazardous waste Documentation & Communication Complete DVIRs, route sheets, and required documentation Maintain communication with dispatch throughout the shift Safety & Compliance Expectations Drivers are responsible for safe execution of their duties. The Safety Department provides training, standards, and oversight. Drivers must follow all safety procedures and actively participate in training. Minimum Qualifications Valid Class A or B CDL with air brake endorsement Valid DOT medical certification Ability to perform physically demanding work Strong teamwork and communication skills Preferred Qualifications 1+ year CDL experience Experience in residential or manual collection environments Physical Requirements Continuous climbing, walking, and manual labor Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Work Environment & Schedule Full-time, early morning start Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays Work performed in residential neighborhood Why Join Us?
