Description

GENERAL SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing CCSNC, the Driver is responsible for pick-up and delivery of residents and materials/equipment as assigned. Assigned duties are implemented in a manner appropriate to the age-specific needs of the patients served.

EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Previous experience working with a geriatric population preferred.

SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

Clearances required: PA State Police criminal history check and PA Department of Aging FBI fingerprint clearance (if applicable). Valid PA driver's license required for driving van during residents' outings. Must pass and successfully maintain requirements of Allied Services Driver's Training Program. Must successfully complete Recreation Department's "One on One" training. Must successfully complete Physical Therapy Department's "Back Safety & Transfer" training. Must be certified or become certified in CPR. Ability to maintain/promote positive relationships with residents, families, and facility personnel required. Must be able to read. Must present a professional appearance at all times.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Moderate Work:

duties require exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally (approx 10-33% of shift), and/or up to 10lbs. of force frequently (approx 33-66% of the time), and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects (i.e., occasional patient transfers). Position involves walking, bending, lifting, reaching, and stooping (occasionally in strained position) and transporting of wheelchairs, etc., throughout shift. Position involves sitting in awkward or cramped positions while driving. Must have ability to assist with transporting residents in wheelchair and ambulating Residents. Ability to transport self throughout facility is required.

ACCIDENT OR HEALTH HAZARDS

Position involves driving Allied vehicles in all weather and environment conditions (inner city, rural areas, snow, rain, fog, wind, etc.).

WORKING CONDITIONS

Works outdoor and in Allied vehicles during various weather conditions. Occasional exposure to elements such as dust, fumes, noise, heat and body fluids. Additional Information
