Job Description
Drivers Job Description Essential Functions
- Demonstrate ability to operate a standard and truck mounted forklift safely and efficiently.
- Ensure proper loading of freight and ensure all size and weight requirements are met. Verify packing list or Bill of Lading that all material is loaded before leaving for delivery.
- Follow DOT guidelines for proper load securing.
- Utilize ELD device and comply with all FMCSA rules regarding such use.
- Conduct pre
- trip inspections daily.
- Complete and turn in appropriate paperwork in the daily trip envelope.
- Responsible for reporting truck maintenance using a phone-based App.
- Trucks should be clean, free of trash and clutter.
- Drivers must submit to random drug and alcohol testing according to FMCSA requirements. General Requirements
- Conduct minor maintenance such as small bulb replacement, safety chains, changing decals, etc. Any minor maintenance that a driver feels uncomfortable with must be reported to The Fleet Manager.
- Must conduct all work in a safe manner. Be aware of surroundings and follow safety procedures to avoid injury or damage to materials.
- All employees at Overman Buildings may be asked to do miscellaneous duties as needed by the company.
