Job Description

George J Howe Company is searching for a Class A CDL warehouse driver to fulfill our time-sensitive food delivery products from our Sweet Distribution Center. The warehouse driver should inspect assigned route sheets, gather requisite merchandise, and then load the delivery vehicle. You should subsequently cart orders to our customers. Some physical labor is required. The essential duties of a Warehouse Driver include :
  • Receiving shipments and supplies
  • Maintaining the work area clean
  • Driving vehicles, including forklifts, tractors, and trucks
  • Loading and unloading trucks
  • Taking part in inventories
  • Updating records
  • Transporting packages and other merchandise from the warehouse to different locations
  • Following route sheets to avoid delays in the delivery
  • Loading merchandise thoughtfully to facilitate quick access
  • Checking all the loaded items to ensure that the orders are correct
  • Returning defective merchandise
  • Updating the inventory sheet
  • Breaking down of pallets
  • Pre and post trip inspections - includes signals and lights, caring for and maintaining vehicle cleanliness
Servicing/Assisting Sales Team Requirements:
High school diploma. Demonstrable, varied experience as a warehouse driver. Commercial driver's license. Unsoiled driving history. Knowledgeable about relevant vehicle weight restrictions. Impeccable coordination techniques. Customer-oriented, communicative, and efficient. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
