Job Description

Job Summary As the Removal Specialist, you will play a crucial role in our team, responsible for driving the company truck to client locations, packaging and removing equipment, and ensuring the smooth execution of removal operations. In times when removals are not scheduled, this position will actively contribute to warehouse activities. The Removal Specialist is expected to maintain a high level of professionalism during client interactions and operate and maintain company vehicles safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Interaction:
Interface with clients in a professional and courteous manner during on-site removals. Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and ensuring a positive removal experience. When making initial call to client on date of pickup query about directions/parking instructions. Always target to arrive 15 minutes early to every pick up. Ensure efficient, clean and effective removal of secondary IT assets, e-waste and other hardware to remove as specified by the relevant account executives. Upon arrival on the pick up site, inquire about material locations, projected quantities and AC adapter quantities. Our goal is to clear out everything they want removed. Before leaving contact location, inquire about future pick-ups and ensure client is completely happy with our service.
Equipment Removal:
Drive the company truck to client locations for equipment removals. Package and remove equipment efficiently, ensuring the safety and integrity of the items being transported.
Vehicle Operation:
Operate the company vehicle safely and responsibly. Perform routine maintenance checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in proper working condition.
  • Ensure you are aware of the responsibilities for DOT compliance, keep up to date driver logs, and have an up-to-date medical card.
Documentation:
Prepare accurate paperwork and records related to removal operations. Ensure all necessary documentation is completed and submitted promptly.
Warehouse Duties:
Work collaboratively with warehouse staff during non-removal periods. Assist in organizing and managing inventory, ensuring a well-maintained and organized warehouse.
Data Security:
Make sure all loose hard drives and storage mediums are securely stored for data security. Strictly adhere to the standard Sycamore data security policies.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position with varying operating hours, including overtime, overnight shifts, and some weekends. Extended hours on-site and off-site may be necessary during busy periods and OT available at times. The candidate should be flexible and available to adapt to the dynamic demands of the role.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a removal specialist or in a similar role. At least 21 years old with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Ability to drive and operate a company vehicle independently. At least one year of route transportation experience preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Pass pre-employment substance abuse screening, background check, and DOT physical. Demonstrate safe, efficient driving skills and maintain all security procedures. Exhibit strong customer service and verbal communication. Grip, lift, and carry consumer storage over, up, and down inclines and stairs. Walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in equipment removal or related field is preferred. It's essential to note that driving on company business or operating a company vehicle or forklift under the influence of intoxicants or drugs that may impair driving/operating ability is strictly forbidden and may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
