Job Description
CDL Truck Driver - Equipment Hauling Position Summary Bryant Industrial is seeking an experienced CDL Truck Driver to safely transport heavy equipment, machinery, materials, and jobsite supplies to industrial and construction projects throughout the Southeastern United States. This position requires an individual who can safely load, secure, transport, and unload equipment while complying with DOT regulations, company safety policies, and project schedules. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Safely transport heavy equipment, machinery, materials, and jobsite supplies using lowboy, flatbed, step-deck, and other equipment trailers. Load and unload construction and industrial equipment safely. Properly position and secure loads using chains, binders, straps, blocking, and other approved cargo-securement equipment. Inspect loads throughout transport and make adjustments when necessary. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, tires, brakes, lights, and safety equipment. Verify equipment weights, load dimensions, permits, and route restrictions before transport. Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, delivery paperwork, fuel receipts, and other required documentation. Comply with all DOT, FMCSA, company, and jobsite safety requirements. Coordinate with project managers, equipment operators, customers, and field crews to ensure timely equipment deliveries and pickups. Safely maneuver trucks and trailers through construction sites, industrial facilities, military installations, and other restricted or congested areas. Report mechanical problems, equipment damage, safety concerns, and delivery delays to management. Keep assigned trucks, trailers, and equipment clean and in safe operating condition. Assist with yard and jobsite duties when not actively hauling. Qualifications Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License required. Current DOT medical certificate required. Previous experience hauling heavy construction or industrial equipment. Experience operating lowboy, flatbed, step-deck, or similar equipment trailers. Strong knowledge of DOT cargo-securement requirements, load limits, weight distribution, and safe hauling practices. Ability to safely operate equipment when loading and unloading. Acceptable driving record and ability to meet company insurance requirements. Strong communication, time-management, and organizational skills. Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. Must be able to pass required drug screenings and background checks. Travel Requirements Out-of-state travel is required. Ability to transport equipment to projects throughout the Southeastern United States. Flexibility to work early mornings, overtime, weekends, and varying schedules as project demands require. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Ability to climb into and out of trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment. Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, pull, and position chains, binders, ramps, and other securement equipment. Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday.
